Bolsunovsky Mikhail Alekseevich has successfully defended his PhD dissertation
On June 19, 2026, Mikhail Alekseevich Bolsunovsky successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences in specialty 1.6.17. – Oceanology at a meeting of the Dissertation Council 24.1.214.02 in the large conference hall of the V.I. Il'ichev Pacific Oceanological Institute, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The dissertation topic was "Geospheric Interaction in the Infrasound Range." The aim of the work was to study the mechanisms of the impact of atmospheric disturbances caused by catastrophic and non-catastrophic natural processes and phenomena on the hydrosphere and lithosphere, as well as to determine the primary sources of recorded geospheric anomalies.

The dissertation work was completed at the POI FEB RAS, where Bolsunovsky M.A. works as a junior research fellow, under the scientific supervision of the chief research fellow of the Geosphere Physics Laboratory, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory Ivanovich Dolgikh.
Based on the results of a secret vote (19 for, 1 against), the Dissertation Council 24.1.214.02 decided to award Mikhail Alekseevich Bolsunovsky the degree of PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences in specialty 1.6.17. – Oceanology.
